As part of our art sessions, we have been designing our own kimonos. We have looked carefully at original designs and then applied them to our own. We will then paint our designs onto real fabric in order to make a real life kimono. What do you think to our initial ideas?

We have been getting arty.
This week we have been taking inspiration from the Japanese artist Hokusai, who was a very famous woodblock printer.

He was probably most famous for his picture of the great wave which was actually one of a series of 46 pictures of the 36 views of Mount Fuji. Click on the picture below to see more.We have taken inspiration from Hokusai's many paintings of Mount Fuji and have tried to create our own. First we used watercolours - what do you think?
